Securus is pleased to announce the promotion of Lisa Spencer to the position of Director of Agency Operations overseeing the supervision and coordination of all aspects of customer service, claims, and staffing in all divisions of the agency.
One of the original employees who started Securus, Lisa has served in the customer and claims departments and most recently held the position of Assistant Vice President – Agency Operations. She has held the professional designation of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) since 2003. The CIC designation denotes the possession of the knowledge, personal dedication, and expertise to succeed in an ever-changing, demanding profession.
Lisa is a member of the Senior Management Team, providing insight and support for the future direction of the business. A resident of Lititz, Lisa is also a member of the Lancaster County Association of Human Resource Management.

Alliance member Securus has debuted their brand new web presence. The new site features easy navigation to their Insurance Benefits and Investment services, four different video commentaries by Securus President Ray Shirk on the home page, an interactive design to help visitors easily find the information they seek, and complete information on the Securus approach to customer service.
The site hosts a variety of resources, and is intended as a resource where Securus customers and potential customers can obtain information necessary to their business and personal security.
While playing a rare round of non-business golf, Bob Creason of Christian-Baker scored a hole-in-one on June 7.
Bob was participating in the Phil Bankert Golf Classic at Colonial Country Club in Harrisburg when he conquered the 235-yard 12th hole with one stroke.
Alliance member Hampson Mowrer Kreitz recently received the Fabric of the Community award from the Northampton Community College. Securus has announced that Tammi L. Miller, has earned her certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources.
The certification, awarded by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI), signifies that Tammi possesses the theoretical knowledge and practical experience in human resource management necessary to pass a rigorous examination demonstrating a mastery of the body of knowledge in the field. HRCI is the credentialing body for human resource professionals and is affiliated with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world’s largest organization dedicated exclusively to the human resource profession.
Tammi serves as the Director of Service and Support for The Human Focus – a division of The Securus Group, Inc. and is responsible for the internal HR aspects as well as supporting external clients.
Recently Jane Koppenheffer, President and CEO of The Insurance Alliance, and two Alliance principals, Joe Geise of Gearhart-Herr of State College and Jonathan Zinn of Zinn Insurance of Myerstown, attended a “Dynamics of Sales Management” course sponsored by Selective Insurance. In addition to the excellent three day seminar, they had the opportunity to tour Selective’s Home Office in Branchville, New Jersey as well as have dinner with company executives.
Jane commented, “This is another excellent example of Selective’s effort to help independent agencies prepare for the future. It is an investment in time and resources and independent agents are becoming more discerning of those carriers that are working with them for mutual future success and those that are ‘planning around’ the independent agency system.”
On Thursday, May 22nd, The Insurance Alliance held a sales meeting with Selective Insurance. The meeting was held in Lancaster, at the office of Securus, an Alliance member.
John Marchioni, Executive Vice President (pictured), and Charles Adams, Regional Vice President, of Selective participated along with a number of the leaders of the various SBU units and representatives from The Alliance member agencies.
The Insurance Alliance of Central PA held a new producers’ Sales Meeting on May 21st as part of its Accellerations New Producer Contest Sixteen producers, all working less than 18 months as a P&C insurance producer for an Insurance Alliance member, participated.
The meeting with the Platinum Sponsor, Ohio Casualty, was held at their Camp Hill, PA office, providing the opportunity for the producers to meet key personnel in underwriting, claims, and loss control. Regional Vice President, Don Waardenburg, participated extensively in the meeting and provided encouragement and insights to the group.
At the recent 40th Anniversary celebration of the Northampton Community College, Hampson Mowrer Kreitzwere recognized with the Fabric of the Community award. Presented only once every five years, the honor celebrates HMK’s rich history of giving back to their community through support of various organizations and their volunteer work.
