With the assistance of two Alliance members, Miers Insurance and Hampson Mowrer Kreitz (HMK), Fireman’s Fund successfully obtained Heritage Grant money for the Bethlehem City Fire Department (BFD) to purchase a new utility vehicle.
Miers and HMK provided local agency support for the $45,000 grant by endorsing the local Fireman’s Fund office’s application on behalf of the BFD. The agencies worked with members of the BFD and Julie Sanders of Fireman’s Fund, providing letters of endorsement and support for the application.

The S. June Smith Center has appointed two Securus associates to its Board of Directors. These members will assist in leading a not-for-profit organization that serves children with developmental disabilities and delays in Lancaster County.
New to the S. June Smith Center Board of Directors are Demi Porter and Ryan Bruni. Demi Porter joined Securus in January 2004 as the Operations Manager of the Third Party Administrators Division. Prior to joining Securus, Demi was employed by Administrators and Consultants from 1990 to 2003. A graduate of Philadelphia College of Textile & Science she is a member of the Society of Professional Benefit Administrators.
Ryan Bruni joined Securus in October 2006 as Account Manager in the Business Insurance Division. A graduate of Saint Joseph’s University, the Lancaster resident was previously employed by Philadelphia Insurance Company as its Marketing Representative / Production Underwriter.

For the second year in a row, The Insurance Alliance has been named among the Top 100 Property Casualty Independent Agencies - 2007, according to Insurance Journal magazine.
The Alliance ranked #37 among privately-held agencies and maintained the position of third largest Pennsylvania-based agency. The overall rank moved nine places from last year due to five first-time agencies entering higher on the list.

Headed up by Director of Business Development Ann Garman and Director of Service and Support Tammi Miller, PHR, Human Focus offers a variety of services to clients looking to outsource their HR operations.

The 2007 Central PA iDay was held on April 5 at the Raddison Penn Harris Convention Center. The closing session of the day featured a panel discussion on Basic Training for A Softening Market. Participants included Alliance President Jane Koppenheffer along with Peerless Insurance Group Resident Vice President Don Waardenburg, Robert Brandon, Vice President of Underwriting for Penn National Insurance, and Rick Rankin of Murray Insurance. The group provided opinion and insight on current market conditions from both the agency and carrier perspectives.

Hampson Mowrer Kreitz (HMK) recently partnered with Fireman’s Fund to host a seminar featuring a winery expert who discussed how to build and stock a wine cellar with business leaders in the Lehigh Valley.
Held on March 22, 2007 at Edge restaurant in Bethlehem, 80 guests were introduced to Fireman’s Fund’s principals who took a few minutes during the initial presentation to inform guests about options for high net-worth homeowners.
